How Morgen 3x'd Organic Clicks in 6 Months and Jumped to #3 in AI Search

About Morgen

Morgen is a daily planner that prioritizes your most important to-dos, events, and projects in one app.

Challenge

When Jim Hartung joined Morgen as Head of Growth in October 2025, two channels were already showing signs of life: SEO and YouTube. But neither had a real strategy behind them.

That’s when Jim reached out to Scalerrs.

Strategy

SEO and YouTube were the starting point, but we built a 360 organic strategy from the ground up: AI search, SEO, YouTube, Reddit, and link building.

  • On the SEO side, we went after golden keywords their highest LTV, lowest churn customers search for
  • On AEO, we created content for every channel AI cites (more on that below)
  • On YouTube, we identified the exact comparative and educational content formats that would rank, get cited in AI search, and drive signups
  • On Reddit, we joined the conversations their buyers were already having
  • On link building, we powered up key pages that needed a push to break through

AI Search

We backtraced every source AI pulls content from: Reddit, YouTube, SEO blogs. And created content for these channels.

The content surfaces AI pulls from and the content ranking on Google are the same. So every SEO win fed AI search at the same time.

As a result, we saw a significant increase in AI search traffic, with signups following directly. Jim started having conversations with users who found Morgan through ChatGPT, Perplexity, and other AI tools.

When they ran tests across LLMs to see what was being pulled up, they found Scalerrs-written SEO articles and Reddit threads being cited and referenced in the responses.

Content

Morgan already had an internal team member on content. We came in alongside them, understood their brand voice, guidelines, tone and got up to speed fast.

From there, execution ran itself. Jim didn't need to check in. The content was rolling, on time, on brief, and built to hit what LLMs look for: comparison formats, depth, real answers.

YouTube

YouTube wasn't a standalone play. Every video we recommended was tied to the same golden keywords driving SEO and Reddit, so Morgan was covering the same topic across multiple content surfaces that AI search pulls from.

Reddit

With a PLG motion, buyers research before they ever sign up. They're in threads, comparing tools, asking for recommendations. We got Morgan into those conversations with a value-first appraoch. Every comment helped the readers and there was no hard selling.

We got more Google visibility as Reddit threads ranked higher, and more AI search citations as LLMs pulled from those same threads.

Link Building

Link building wasn't in the original scope. But we made the case and Jim gave it a shot.

Soon, articles that had been live for a year, pulling 5-10 clicks a day, jumped to 100+ clicks a day after adding three or four targeted backlinks. As Jim said, “the before and after was clear every single time.”
